In our humble opinion, Priceline is the best way to get really great hotel deals. I have personally stayed in Atlanta at a Homestead Suites Hotel for $33 including taxes and fees... using Priceline. (I bid $29). The advertised rate was $79.00! I've also stayed for 4 nights in Orlando at Homestead Suites for $129. including all fees and taxes. So as far as I am concerned, Priceline is the ONLY way to book a hotel... even if you have to stop at an Internet Cafe to do it! You can actually book up til 6 p.m. the same day. I take my cue for the bid from Priceline's advertised "bargain rates". It's possible that you could get it for less. See the article below for some ideas on how to do that.
Here's an article that takes bidding on Priceline to a new level:
"Wing it around Europe for less! The Inter-European AirTaxi ticket lets you country-hop all over Europe for just $99 per flight. These "open" passes let you fly one-way, non-stop to cities all over Europe, starting or ending anywhere you want. The Inter-European AirTaxi makes it easy - no blackout dates, no fare zones, advance reservations or reservations on the go, valid for 120 days, no minimum purchase and reservation changes are allowed. The best way to see more of Europe by air- the Inter-Europe AirTaxi!"

What's The Deal With Those "Free" or Deeply Discounted Vacations in Exchange for Attending a Timeshare Pitch?
Typically you need a household income of $45,000 or $50,000 and a major credit card (not a debit card). You can't be traveling in a camper or RV...and you have to sit through a 90minute presentation. Often includes a free breakfast. In exchange you get a deeply discounted motel room that sleeps up to 4 and two free attraction tickets. Check individual listings for exact terms.
Here are some examples. Remember, you are under no obligation to buy a timeshare. Do not rush into ...or let yourself be pressured into... signing any paperwork during the presentation... or your discounted vacation could wind up costing a lot more than you counted on.
HotelsCorp.com Cheap... and super-cheap motel accommodations and Disney ticket packages. Lowest prices involve sitting through a time-share prez.
Beware of Those "Free" Cruises and "Free" Air Fares
Often they are anything but free... requiring that you stay at an expensive hotel in exchange for a "free" airfare... or have all sorts of "taxes" which are actually fees paid to the tour company.

"There's nothing else like the Green Tortoise - PERIOD. Our busses are beautiful, with names and literally millions of miles of character.
"Our passengers are happy. They don't sit up all night with their heads against the window, but sleep lying down on fitted sheets over mattresses on raised platforms and bunk beds, listening to beautiful music as they doze off. In the morning they've usually arrived somewhere incredible! By day we swim, cook breakfast, explore caves, climb mountains, raft downstream, stand under waterfalls, walk through forests, cook dinner, build campfires, visit towns, meet people, or just plain take it easy.
"You're welcome to join the adventure, friends and fun. The settings will be national parks and the finest and least visited beaches, deserts, forests, hot springs, mountains, and waterfalls that our years of experience and good-natured drivers can find."
