Stay Up to Date with What's Happening with Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report via ColbertNation.com, Facebook and MySpace

Whether it's checking out who's going to be Stephen's next guest or getting tickets to a live taping or ordering a 'Che Colbert' T-shirt or catchining up on missed episodes, ColbertNation.com is THE place to look because it's The Colbert Report's Official Website.

"... Stephen Colbert was poised to make television and linguistic history on October 17th, 2005 with the premiere of his own show, 'The Colbert Report.' It was on that first episode that Stephen coined the word 'truthiness', which went on to become Merriam-Webster's 2006 Word of the Year. Almost immediately, Stephen's fan base increased exponentially and demanded to know more about their icon, and thus, rabid fan site Colbert Nation was born. It wasn't long before Stephen had a Hungarian bridge named after him and an ice cream flavor created in his honor.... Stephen Colbert is the host and executive producer of the Emmy-nominated series on Comedy Central, 'The Colbert Report.' Touted by the New York Times as 'one of the best television shows of the year' and praised as "a must-watch show" by Entertainment Weekly, "The Colbert Report" has garnered ratings and critical success as one of the top shows on television. Stephen's personality, insight and overall rightness led to his half-hour nightly platform which takes on issues of the day, and more importantly, tells you why everyone else's take is just plain wrong. In its first season, 'The Colbert Report' received four Emmy nominations, including 'Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program' and 'Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series.'..." Eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream "... What does Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report have in common with 60’s musician Jerry Garcia, rockers Dave Mathews Band, and clown-emcee of Woodstock — Wavy Gravy? Ideologically — not much (or maybe everything?) except taste — as Colbert is now a pint flavor. The flavor, Stephen Colbert’s AmeriCone Dream™ is a decadent melting pot of vanilla ice cream with fudge-covered waffle cone pieces and a caramel swirl. It’s the sweet taste of liberty in your mouth. Recognizing that we, as a country, are at a time in our nation’s history where we need to reach across the aisle to people of all political ideologies — the left-leaning liberals at the company’s headquarters in Vermont felt it was fine to combine forces with the media man-of-steel. The company adds there are many similarities between Colbert and themselves. “He’s about political activism, so are we. He stands up for what he believes in, so do we. He supports Bill O’Reilly, and we… think he has a right to his opinion,” says ice cream Co-founder, Jerry Greenfield..." CLICK HERE for the rest of the story

Stephen Colbert in the News

Emanuel Warns of Risks of Appearing on Stephen Colbert's Show "... Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.), the Democratic Caucus chairman, has told new Democratic members of Congress to steer clear of Stephen Colbert, or at least his satirical Comedy Central program, 'The Colbert Report.' 'He said don’t do it … it’s a risk and it’s probably safer not to do it,' said Rep. Steve Cohen...." CLICK HERE for the rest of the story.

America's Anchors: Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert faked it until they made it. Now they may truly be the most trusted names in news "... I thought Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert might be a little nervous to meet with me. I was the real news commentator, after all, and they were the mock. They threw spitballs at presidents; I interviewed presidents before throwing spitballs at them. I had crisscrossed the globe to cover news stories, while these guys just put on dark suits and threw up imported backgrounds on a green screen. No doubt they would try to impress me with some weighty discussion about world affairs or the midterm elections. But when I walked into Colbert's office at The Colbert Report, just off Tenth Avenue in Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen, the two barely acknowledged me. Stewart, rumpled in a gray tee over a long-sleeved shirt, khaki cargo pants, black Timberland boots and a Mets cap, was sprawled in a chair with takeout coffee. Colbert, neat in a long-sleeved navy shirt, blue pants and wire-rimmed glasses, was sitting up straight next to him, holding a paper plate of fruit. They were already deep in a weighty discussion...." CLICK HERE to read the rest of the story in this Rolling Stone Magazine interview by Maureen Dowd back in 2006
