There are quite a few magazines in print as well as online magazines and blogs who are actively seeking writers on a freelance basis. Some pay you for each article you write or post you make. Some pay you in perks: free games, movies, festival tickets. Many pay only with a promise of exposure for your writing and YOUR blog via an author's bio and link to your website, with a possibility that your writing, if it's consistently excellent, could be a path to a full or part-time paid position as a staff or freelance writer.

Writing as a 'guest writer' for established online blogs is a great way to get exposure for yourself and your website or blog as your compensation.
