The "Exploded Planet of Heaven" Theory... or the "Primal Catastrophe"

"....the ancients firmly believed that the origins of mankind lay on a neighbouring planet in our solar system - a planet which exploded at the beginning of time and hence no longer exists in our physical universe...."
Alan F. Alford

In God, Heaven and the Afterlife Author Alan F. Alford writes ".... According to thousands of years of cumulative study, largely based on metaphysical science one suspects, the ancients concluded that man's origins did indeed lie on the exploded Planet of Heaven and that man could indeed return to the Source by first descending into the depths of the underworld. But this was, by all accounts, a most hazardous quest. Any soul who was ill-prepared would likely become trapped for ever in the fiery 'hell' of the underworld or lost for ever in a subterranean maze. Alternatively the ill-prepared soul might be distracted by the bright lights of Orion or Sirius, forgetting that these stars were merely the visible symbols for the more esoteric and invisible 'Morning Star'.

"The successful soul, on the other hand, would be one which was free of sin and perfectly initiated into the secrets of Heaven and Earth, especially the secrets pertaining to the celestial origins of mankind (known to the Sumerians as the mystery of the 'black-headed ones')...."

"Amazingly, one American astronomer, Dr Tom Van Flandern, has been pushing this very argument - the exploded planet hypothesis - since the mid-1970s. According to Van Flandern, the asteroid belt and the comets are the result of explosions of several celestial bodies in our solar system - at least two planets and two accompanying moons per the latest scientific data. For further information on this subject, please see my articles under 'Exploded Planet Hypothesis'.

"At the moment, the scientific establishment remains vehemently opposed to Van Flandern's hypothesis, although the arguments bear all the hallmarks of a typical defense of academic dogma irrespective of scientific data. But if Van Flandern continues to win all the arguments, as he has done in recent years, the day might well come when the tide will turn and the exploded planet hypothesis will become less a 'theory' and more an 'explanation' of the origin of asteroids and comets...."  CLICK HERE fore more of the story.  Also read The Mystery of Atlantis in which Alford asserts that Atlantis was the exploded planet.

"..... Throughout the world, ancient peoples were obsessed with Sky-gods who would fight battles in the Sky and descend to the Earth. In my books 'The Phoenix Solution' and 'When The Gods Came Down',[4] I revealed that these Sky-gods were associated with the disintegration of a celestial 'mountain', with the depictions of such a mountain symbolising an exploded planet, and with the term 'mountain' thus referring metaphorically to 'planet'. In short, I concluded, beyond any reasonable doubt, that the religions of ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia were 'exploded planet cults'...."

Cosmic Catastrophes: Collisions with Meteors, Asteroids and Comets

The Comet That Launched Noah's Ark  "(Apr 22, 1996 2:47 p.m. EDT) -- The biblical flood, a central tenet of three of the world's great religions, was nothing to do with divine wrath: the real cause was a giant comet that hit Earth, according to new research.

"In the same way as Jupiter was rocked two years ago by the million-megaton impact of the comet Shoemaker-Levy, so Earth was bombarded 12,000 years ago by the fragments of a similar celestial visitor. It caused tidal waves, the mass extinction of many prehistoric species such as the mammoth and sabre-toothed tiger, and turned the world dark for months.

"Professor Alexander Tollmann, the author of the study and an internationally renowned geologist, said: 'The consequence of the impact explosions appears to have included a chain of up to a dozen individual catastrophes, including earthquakes, geological deformation, a vapour plume and tidal waves'...."  CLICK HERE for the rest of the story.

The Impact Catastrophe That Ended the Mesozoic Era  "Theories about 'what happened to the dinosaurs' abound as researchers from many fields attempt to hone in on one of the great mysteries of our planet. Artist Bill Hartmann, a renowned planetary scientist in his own right, has captured one of the most plausible and exciting theories in a series of original paintings depicting the impact and resulting catastrophic effect of a 10 km asteroid believed to have hit the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico about 65 million years ago. Now available as an ExInEd Electronic PictureBook, these paintings and their accompanying captions tell the story of the dramatic impact and the climactic changes that may have occurred as a result. The Impact Catastrophe That Ended the Mesozoic Era is an exciting tale and is recommended for all ages..."  Note: Link to picturebook not working, but gallery of paintings is worth a click.

Tunguska

"....In 1908 a catastrophic explosion occurred in the atmosphere over a remote area in Siberia, near the Tunguska River. Although the cause of this airburst has remained a mystery, nearly a thousand square miles of forest was instantaneously destroyed...." "The explosions were heard in the early morning hours of June 30, 1908. It was a drama that has occurred countless times in Earth's history, and that is sure to play again.

"Those Tungus tribesmen and Russian fur traders who happened to glance into the southeastern Siberian sky that fateful morning must have been startled to see a fireball streaking through the atmosphere toward their trading post of Vanavara and leaving a trail of light some 800 kilometers long. The object, whatever its nature, was approaching from an azimuth of 115 degrees and descending at an entry angle of 30 to 35 degrees above the horizon. Their gaze followed the bright fireball as it continued along a northwestward trajectory until it seemed about to disappear over the horizon. Then it shattered in a rapid series of cataclysmic explosions lasting about half a second over a distance of 15 to 20 kilometers."

Tunguska Meteorite Paradox 1908 - 2000

Some Eyewitness Testimonies  "...They came to region of the Shelle river, one kilometer from the Chamba river. There were two mountains, which they knew very well...
... It has appeared, that one mountain falled down. A pit was formed in that place and this pit was flooded by a lake. The second mountain was cut to half. The water in the lake was moving around. Something white as fat (or something "with smell as benzine"), was floating on the surface of water...."

Tunguska Incident: An Impact... or Atomic Explosion?

Another Hypothesis about Tunguska Equates the Causal Factor to be like a Nuclear Explosion  ".... As could be predicted from the new model of the Earth, much about Tunguska is comparable to a nuclear explosion. One scientist states, "the cloud afterward was exactly like an atomic mushroom cloud." Meteors only case minor magnetic disturbances, but the Tunguska event caused a major disturbance, like what occurs after atmospheric nuclear explosions. A local magnetic storm began about six minutes after the explosion and lasted more than four hours. These observations resemble those that follow nuclear explosions. Had it been a bolide the magnetic disturbance would have begun as it entered the atmosphere. Nuclear explosions generate nitric oxide, nitrates and disturb climate, and so did the Tunguska event.

"Pressure and suction waves were experienced by observers. A pressure wave broke windows inward followed by a suction wave that sucked clods of dirt out of the ground and hurled an iron stove door across a room. Ionizing radiation after a blast would cause a vacuum, producing a suction, but a meteor would not...."

See also Dinosaur Extinctions: No Comet or Asteroid Impact Here ".... In August of 1971, this expedition, while in the Gobi Desert, uncovered the skeletons of two dinosaurs, Veliciropator and Protoceratops, still locked in mortal combat. Something very sudden had to overcome them or obviously both would have defended themselves against a common threat. Furthermore, both had their backs arched as if something had severely cramped their back muscles. Radiation affects high atomic-number elements more. The most abundant high atomic-number elements in biological organisms are calcium and potassium. These two elements are utilized in muscle function, and ionizing radiation may have caused extreme cramping of their muscles, arching their backs. Some have claimed that the tendons tighten after death producing this arching. Regardless, something had to overwhelm these dinosaurs very quickly in order for them to still be locked in combat...."

Geology and God, Part II  "....The study of geology tells us that Earth history has always been punctuated by cataclysms and extinction events. We have been bombarded from space, turned upside down, had our climates twisted inside out and our oceans sloshing about, all out of control. Three thousand years ago we might have wondered why the gods were doing this to us, or why did the gods hate us so? Today, after 3,000-million years of evolution, we can look at this more objectively. And there is a bright note. What appears to be emerging is that in the aftermath of these traumatic events, we find the blossoming of new forms of life in the geological record...."

Collision with a Comet Could Have Disrupted Life on a Global Scale 11,000 Years Ago  ".... an abrupt onset of frigid weather, known as the Younger Dryas cold event, is fast becoming the prime suspect in the mega-fauna extinction case. Suddenly, around eleven thousand years ago, glaciers which had been receding for several millennia were reestablished up to a thousand miles south of where they had been earlier. Modern dating techniques have, over the past few years, allowed scientists to determine that these glaciers formed and then dissipated in less than four hundred years--possibly within a century. The cause of this severely rapid flip-flop in climate is not yet known. There is, though, a very, very good possibility that the agent which formed the Carolina Bays produced this environmental crisis...."

A collision with debris from a comet could have caused a global catastrophe 11,000 years ago"....ice core and other time defining studies that this era of rich flora and fauna ended quite abruptly around 11,000 years ago. Sikhote-Alin Revisited  "The Sikhote-Alin meteorite shower at 10:30 a.m. 12 February 1947 is the largest known such shower and among the best documented meteorite falls.... The cosmic intruder on that clear cold morning streaked across the blue Siberian sky as a monster bolide that plunged into the atmosphere from NNE to SSW at an angle of about 45 degrees. Trailing a dark dust tail some 35 km long, at an altitude of about 4.5 km it broke up as a swarm of tiny fireballs that disappeared behind the foothills of the Sikhote-Alin mountain range about midway between Vladivostok and Khabarovsk. Eyewitnesses said the bolide was brighter than the Sun, and it was observed over an area 300 to 400 km in radius. They also reported that a few minutes after the fireball first appeared they heard thunderous roars like those from heavy-caliber guns echoing among the mountain ridges...."

Collision of Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 with Jupiter "The pieces of the former Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 struck Jupiter during the week of July 16-22 1994. The impacts took place on the back side of Jupiter, but only just, and the impact sites rotated into Earth's view within minutes. Each explosion produced a plume that reached thousands of kilometers above the cloudtops, placing the plumes far above Jupiter's limb and into direct view from Earth. The plumes rose and fell over a period of ten or twenty minutes, governed by the simple laws of ballistics. When the plumes fell back on the atmosphere they were reheated. Embedded dust glowed brightly in the thermal infrared for a period of order ten to twenty minutes, producing the spectacular infrared events seen on Earth...."  View an animation of the comet's impact with Jupiter.

The Threat of Impact by Near-Earth Asteroids: Clark R. Chapman's testimony before Congress "....Fortunately, unlike many disasters that threaten us about which we can do little, there are things we can do about the impact hazard. First, and most important, we can find out whether or not a mile-wide asteroid is actually headed toward us. By sampling the heavens, we can tell that there are at least 2,000 asteroids of the class that could strike the Earth which are more than a kilometer across; that's nearly 2/3rds of a mile across, and well within our uncertainties of what's big enough to cripple civilization. Of the 2,000, however, we have discovered and charted the paths of only about 245, or 12%. None of them, we have learned, are targeted towards Earth within the foreseeable future. But any one of the other 88% -- 1,755 potential killer rocks out there -- could strike at any time, even this afternoon, without warning. We simply haven't been looking hard enough...." SHIELD: A Comprehensive Earth Protection System  "The greatest natural threat to the long-term survivability of mankind is an asteroid or comet impact with the Earth. Throughout its history, the Earth has continuously been bombarded by objects ranging in size from dust particles to comets or asteroids 10 km >in diameter. Although the probability of the Earth being hit by a large object is low, the effects of an impact are so catastrophic that it is essential to prepare defense against such a threat. SHIELD is a comprehensive Earth defense system designed to discover, catalog, calculate the orbits and impact probability of near-Earth objects (NEOs) and, to deflect, disperse, or otherwise alter the orbit of a potential impactor. This study provides an architectural concept for an overall system suitable for implementation within the next 10 to 40 years...."

Catastrophic Predictions

Prophecies from Space "The 15.5-ton Willamette Meteorite, the largest ever found in the United States, is a messenger from God, according to the Clackamas Indians, who revere the metallic rock and call it Tomanowos, meaning 'The Sky Person.'

"In the centuries before the white man arrived in America, the tribe, based in Oregon's Upper Willamette Valley, received volumes of wisdom and spiritual teachings from the meteorite which is said to communicate telepathically. It also forewarned them of dangers that lay ahead, such as floods and attacks from enemy tribes.

For years, The Sky Person has been silent, but recently it has begun to "speak" again from New York's Museum of Natural History -- and the Indians have been on the warpath to get it back to hear what it has to say.... "

Mass Extinctions

Mass Extinctions

"....In the last 600 million years there were five mass extinctions. During these events more than half of the species on Earth died.

"Asteroid impacts are associated with the two most recent events. The largest event, about 245 million years ago, occurred when continental drift brought all the continents together into a super continent, probably causing climatic deterioration. No clear cause has yet been found for the event 365 million years ago. The oldest mass extinction, at the end of the Ordovician Period, about 430 million years ago, was caused by an ice age when glaciers covered Africa, which was then at the south pole...."  See also Coral Reefs of Southeastern Wisconsin

Dance of the Planets 1 - The Earth ".... puts forth a new scenario detailing recent planetary chaos in the solar system. The Velikovsky/Angiras (V/A) scenario postulates a long series of close interactions between Venus, Mars and the Earth, which profoundly affected mankind for about 3000 years, beginning at the Early Bronze Age I. It represents the fruition of Velikovsky's work, presented in Worlds in Collision, providing a completely new picture of the ancient world at a very appropriate juncture in modern history - the new millennium. Although there is considerable evidence of these encounters on the Earth and the planets, the primary source of this detail in our scenario comes from ancient myths. In them, the number of encounters, and the floods, earthquakes and thunderbolts that marked each, are clearly spelled out with a detail that could never be determined by examining the physical evidence remaining today....."

Terrestrial Volcanoes  "....On August 24, A.D. 79, Vesuvius Volcano suddenly exploded and destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Although Vesuvius had shown stir-rings of life when a succession of earthquakes in A.D. 63 caused some damage, it had been literally quiet for hundreds of years and was considered "extinct." Its surface and crater were green and covered with vegetation, so the eruption was totally unexpected. Yet in a few hours, hot volcanic ash and dust buried the two cities so thoroughly that their ruins were not uncovered for nearly 1,700 years, when the discovery of an outer wall in 1748 started a period of modern archeology. Vesuvius has continued its activity intermittently ever since A.D 79 with numerous minor eruptions and several major eruptions occurring in 1631, 1794, 1872, 1906 and in 1944 in the midst of the Italian campaign of World War II.

Mount St. Helens is expected to remain intermittently active for months or years, possibly even decades...."  CLICK HERE for more of the story.

Solar and Lunar Triggers on Earthquakes and Volcanic Eruptions  "....the subject of plate tectonics, more commonly known as continental drift, was discussed to some extent. That discussion brought forth the understanding that electrostatic forces are at work in producing the tectonic plates' dynamics. These electrostatic forces result from particle flow along Field lines with the descending limbs interacting with plate boundaries. Further confirmation of this understanding can be found in studies that correlate solar activity, and lunar phases and cycles with the triggering of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

"One fact that calls for new perspectives on plate tectonics is that earthquakes are correlated with solar activity. Solar activity, as indicated by sunspots, solar flares, radio noise, and solar-induced geomagnetic activity, plays a significant role. A maximum of earthquakes occurs at times of moderately high and fluctuating solar activity, particularly solar flares. Strong earthquakes take place when the Earth crosses the central meridian of the Sun, and this understanding has been used to successfully predict some quakes. Moreover, the Sun's retrograde motion is linked to earthquakes and other geophysical phenomena, including climate and volcanic activity. These facts alone indicate that the solar-FEM linkage and electrostatic forces are involved in earthquake occurrence....."

An Unorthodox Explanation for Cratering on the Planets "....Ever since the earliest investigations of craters, there has been controversies surrounding their origin. Investigations of numerous craters in the first half of the 20th Century brought about the unwarranted tendency to interpret craters of internal origin (geoblemes), as those which resulted from impacts (astroblemes). In fact, internally produced, volcanic-like explosions were originally referred to as cryptoexplosions (below-ground explosions), but now all craters are referred to in this way. Another factor that encouraged the interpretation of craters as impact phenomena is the belief that there was an era of bombardment in the formation of the planets. However, with the new hydrogen fusion model of the planets, there is an energy source to produce cratering as the result of an internal process. Evidence supporting the theory that many craters are internally produced is quite substantial, but almost completely ignored...."
